From boardroom to sidecar: our big adventure

We’re not just another tour company. We’re passionate locals who have lived and worked in Sydney for decades. We’ve stepped away from the boardrooms and deadlines of busy executive careers to do something that truly brings joy—to us, and to others. There’s no better office than a sidecar!

We’ve always had a deep love for our city, Sydney—a place that is vibrant, beautiful, and full of hidden stories and delights to discover. We also love classic motorcycles and sidecars, which offer the perfect mix of charm, nostalgia, and excitement. So why not combine the two? That’s how Sidecar Hustle was born.

What we do

We offer private sidecar tours around Sydney, taking intimate groups of up to two passengers on a fun, relaxed, and completely unique journey through our beloved city. From iconic landmarks to secret surprises, we’ll treat you to a view of our home city through local eyes—from one of the coolest seats in the house.

Every tour is a chance to make new friends, share our love of Sydney, and bring some joy into the world. We don’t do ‘touristy’—we do personal. When you ride with us, your guide will welcome you like an old friend, and locals will smile and wave as you go by. You’re not a spectator, you’re part of the action. The world feels bigger, closer, and more vivid in a sidecar.

Meet your guides

Hugo – Founder and lead guide

A former executive who traded in his suit for a sidecar, Hugo brings a wealth of experience and the joy of discovery to every tour.

Hugo loves Sydney with the passion of a convert, after growing up in Adelaide, South Australia. He visited Sydney in the early ‘90s and was eating fish and chips at Balmoral Beach when he realised he didn’t want to live anywhere else.

An avid motorcyclist, Hugo has ridden extensively throughout NSW and loves getting out on the bike for just an hour or two, a weekend away, or a longer adventure touring on motorcycles in other countries.

When he’s not designing and leading sidecar tours, Hugo puts his tie back on to help governments, charities, and not-for-profits do more for the people of Australia.

Heather – Guide

Heather was born and raised in Sydney and, like most people who grow up in paradise, couldn’t wait to leave. She travelled the world, touring in every mode of transport you can imagine … except skateboard. When she tells you a sidecar is the best way to see Sydney, she knows what she’s talking about.

She returned to a professional career in Sydney, but never lost her passion for exploring and meeting new friends. Heather loves sharing the highlights and hidden gems of her hometown with tourists and locals alike.

Heather has ridden motorcycles for most of her life, in many, many places. Wherever you want to go, she’ll get you there in style.

Meet your ride

A bike and sidecar together is called an ‘outfit’. This classic outfit is stylish, comfortable, and a brilliant way to see—and be seen in—Sydney.

Our bike is a Triumph Bonneville. It is a modern bike that was built to look and sound like a vintage English bike from the 1950s and 60s, but with modern comfort and reliability.

Our sidecar is a Watsonian GP Manx. Watsonian started building sidecars in England in 1912, and still builds them there today. The GP Manx is a streamlined version of the standard Grand Prix sidecar, like the one attached to Hagrid’s motorcycle in the Harry Potter films, and in the TV show Death in Paradise. An extra-wide version of the same sidecar starred in ‘Two Fat Ladies’, a popular British cooking program from the 1990s.

All our maintenance is done by the good folk at Surfside Motorcyles, Sydney’s largest classic motorbike workshop, and sidecar specialists. Check them out here.
